Holly Hunter is a well-known American actor, producer, and director. She's been honored by film producers for roles like Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles and The Incredibles. Holly Hunter received numerous awards, including The Oscar for her film Piano. The talented actress began her career in acting on the stage in various Broadway and Off-Broadway projects. Being an actor has always been a passion. When she was in fifth grade, she was Helen Keller. The actress was deaf in one ear following a bout of the mumps virus, however she did not allow this handicap to hinder the determination of her to become an actress. At the age of 16, she took classes in drama at university and later moved from Pittsburgh to New York City from Pittsburgh in order to pursue her ambitions. She was introduced to Beth Henley in an elevator and the two collaborated for Broadway Crimes of the Heart which was Hunter's debut film. When she moved into Los Angeles she tried to obtain film roles and scored a supporting role on Swing Shift. Since then she has appeared in numerous films and TV movies and series over an extensive career that spans more than three decades. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and has also won the Women in Film Lucy Award.
